We all hear a lot of talk about rebuilding the Illinois Republican Party. We think it's time to actually get started. It's time for a Republican Renaissance in Illinois.
The crucial mission is to attract better people to serve - both in public and Party office roles.
Our Republican Party represents an amazing pool of largely untapped talent. Illinois companies, the military and other organizations are full of proud Republicans with the training, professionalism and experience to revitalize our State GOP.
Women and men with private sector and/or military experience are needed now more than ever to get our Illinois Party back on track. Too often, the best people have been deterred from political involvement by the horribly unprofessional organization they find. That's helped some of the dishonest players remain on the field - but it's had a devastating impact on our Illinois Party.
The challenge going forward is to identify the businesspeople, professionals, entrepreneurs, and military veterans with the dedication and commitment to Republican principles to make the necessary sacrifices.
It's hardly a secret that a total leadership vacuum now exists in the Illinois GOP. Now is the time for concerned Republicans to stand-up and get involved.
New leaders are needed in posts from top to bottom. A fresh generation of our Party's best and brightest has to be groomed for public offices ranging from U.S. Senate, Congress, all the Constitutional Offices, and the State General Assembly - all the way down to the local school board level.
On the Party organization side, new blood is desperately needed in senior posts like State GOP Central Committeeman, Chairman, and National Committeeman - all the way down to the Ward and Precinct Committeeman level.
Some may not care about titles and just want to be regular volunteers. It's precisely those folks who most deserve to find an honest and professionally-run organization.
